4th Annual Purpose Program Begins

We kicked off our fourth annual session of The Purpose PRogram on May 18. This is SCC’s signature pro bono service designed to help mission-driven organizations in Washington, D.C. metropolitan area tell their stories. Over the next six months, SCC staff will mentor representatives from three organizations on how to build a communication strategy and implement best practices to spread the word about the important work they do for our local community. 

We sent out our first call for applications in late 2019, and the pandemic forced previous sessions to take place via video calls. Now, we are excited to bring our participants to SCC’s new HQ in the Herald Building in Washington, DC.

Peter Garza, Montgomery County Collaboration Council

Peter is the Communications Manager for the Montgomery County Collaboration Council. The Mission of the Montgomery County Collaboration Council is to promote the well-being of children, youth, and families through collaborative partnerships in the community.

Christen Miller, American Experience Foundation

Christen is the Partnerships Manager at the American Experience Foundation. The American Experience Foundation works to enrich the lives of students through inspirational travel experiences and educational opportunities to cultivate the next generation of hospitality industry leaders.

Sarah Shah, Jewish Fertility Foundation DC

Sarah is the Program Manager for the Jewish Fertility Foundation of Greater Washington D.C. The Jewish Fertility Foundation’s mission is to provide emotional support and financial assistance to people in D.C., Maryland, and Virginia experiencing infertility.
